Earn CE contact hours at AANN Amplify

Attendees can earn 4 CE contact hours* for attending the symposium and completing the evaluation. The sessions will be recorded and available for viewing after the symposium.

The American Association of Neuroscience Nurses is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the California Board of Registered Nursing (CEP: 13331).

Successful completion: Participants must be registered for the conference and attend the sessions(s). Attendees can be awarded 1 CE contact hour for every 60 minutes of educational content they attend and evaluate. Participants must complete an overall conference evaluation to receive contact hours.

Symposium Learning Outcomes

As a result of this activity, learners will be able to:

Neuro-Oncology Session

  • Describe end of life support and how to navigate patients’ reactions to brain cancer and other significant diagnosis.
  • Discuss how molecular markers impact diagnosis of a brain tumor and can aid in treatment options.
  • Analyze case studies that illustrate the importance of integrating molecular information into brain tumor diagnostics and the clinical implications of this additional molecular information.
  • Review clinical trials for central nervous system tumors, current studies and future directions.

Neurocritical Care Session

  • Describe key components of SCI neurologic assessment and discuss the top 10 priorities of SCI care in the ICU.
  • Recognize the essential role of the ICU nurse in prevention of secondary SCI injury and complications.
  • Describe the pathophysiology of primary versus secondary brain injury and the management and interventions for patients with increased intracranial pressure following a traumatic brain injury
  • Discuss emergent priorities when caring for a traumatic brain injured patient
