AANN Webinar: An In-Depth Look at the NIHSS
Tuesday, October 20, 2020, 01:00pm - 02:00pm

Presented by Nikkole Lee, MSN RN CCRN, and Tara Miles, MSN RN CCRN SCRN, the main focus of the webinar will be assisting participants to make an anatomical correlation with the NIHSS exam. This will take the exam understanding to the next level by allowing participants to understand what part of the brain is being tested with each component of the NIHSS exam. We will share our success in customizing our NIHSS education method while maintaining Joint Commission compliance at our organization. The webinar is not intended to count as an NIHSS certification for participants. As a result of attending this webinar, learners will be able to:

  1. Understand options of questioning organizational “standards”

  2. Identify strategies to empower themselves to create organization specific education

  3. Verbalize the purpose of the NIHSS

  4. Successfully perform an NIHSS exam on a patient

  5. Describe anatomical correlation in relation to the NIHSS exam

Registration for this webinar is full. The webinar will be recorded and available for viewing shortly after the webinar. You do not have to be registered for the live webinar to view the recording. If you have any questions, contact AANN Member Services at info@aann.org.
